ETHICAL CODE OF THE DOG’S BREEDER

MISSION
Dog’s breeding is associated with ethical responsibilities that require serious and honest management. Therefore it is restrictly obligated for those registered in the stud book of the pure dog breed to respect the following regulation:

SELECTION

1. Keep your dogs in the best conditions of well-being and health, with adequate care, cleanliness, hygiene, physical exercise and contact with people, physical exercise and contact with people.

2. Respect the current legislation of the animal wellness.

BREEDING PLAN

3. Commit to deepen the knowledge of the breed, on its morphological standard, on the health problems and on the behavioral and functional characteristics, in order to correctly interpret the selection objectives.

4. Select with the aim of improving the quality of the breed, in accordance with the official breed standard (FCI).

5. Do not act as a nominee for registration in the breeding or stud book

6. Observe the ENCI regulations and the associations by it recognized.

7. Reproduce only the dogs registered in the Italian studbook or in foreign books recognized by the FCI - Fédération Cynologique Internationale.

8. Do not sell the dogs not registered in the stud book.

9. Use in the breeding plan the healthy dogs only, which are free of diseases or impediments to a correct functionality or carriers of inherited pathologies.

10. Make accessible the diagnostic valutations of hereditary diseases before mating, to the owners of the sir or dam of in favor of which the service is requested.

11. Do not breed females that are too young, not before the second heat, or too old. After seven years of age it is necessary to obtain a veterinary certificate of suitability for reproduction.

12. For the breeds where behavioral tests are required, make the results visible before the reproduction.

13. Detect and registrate the breeding center informations.

REPRODUCTION

14. In breeding plan use only subjects that can reproduce naturally. Avoid the use of artificial insemination (I.A.) for those not able to naturally mate.

15. Avoid breeding dogs with deviated behavioral reactions such as fear or aggression.

16. It is appropriate for the female, to safeguard her wellness, to have no more than five litters in her life.

ADVERTISING AND TRADE

17. Do not trade the dogs provenient from other breeders.

18. Provide truthful and complete information on the dogs of your kennels.

19. Advertise your kennels and dogs honestly and truthfully.

20. Do not offer dogs for mail-order sales or as a prize in competitions or lotteries.

21. Do not deliver puppies before 60 days of life.

22. Make sure that the buyer is aware of the responsibility to become the owner of a dog and is aware of the morphological and behavioral characteristics of the breed.

23. Preferably inform the purchaser in a written form on the genealogy, feeding, antyworming and immunization treatments performed, and provide indications and advice for proper socialization.
